Every time I write one of these I get the feeling of dread that I’m putting the date in different formats. I hope, for the sake of everyone, that I am being consistent. Anyway, here is what I’ve been up to.
Flinthook
Grappling hook and rogue-like are awesome. When they merge, the only thing left is to pray the addiction gives you enough time to eat or exercise or whatever keeps you alive. I missed out on this game for a long time because I am incapable of doing PC offline gaming, but luckily the Switch has me covered and it gave me a chance to enjoy this cute little gem. I love 2D games, so I will keep playing this one until my fingers bleed (not really, I actually rely on my fingers to do my day job).
Shantae: Half-Genie hero
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to back the game on its kickstarter days because of financial reasons, but I definitely got it day one and loved every minute. I love Shantae games because of their mixture of 2D action and metroidvania elements. I actually consider Shantae games to be console staples. They are part of a few select games that I want to play over and over. This is one of such replay sessions, I also missed the DLC content so I have a lot of catching up to do!
